The action ensemble flick The Expendables took the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office raking in $35 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
The film, written by David Callaham and Sylvester Stallone and directed by Stallone, is an homage to many of the blockbuster films from the 1980s and ’90s.
